Over 50,000 contracts will be procured through the London 2012 supply chain and related work.
The site acts as a brokerage service between buyers throughout the London 2012 supply chain, and potential suppliers of any size.
CompeteFor also provides access to business support services; building skills and capacity to ensure that businesses across the UK can access opportunities linked to the hosting of the London 2012 Games.
The West Midlands region plans to:
increase the take up of the CompeteFor procurement system, ensuring the maximum number of companies are in a position to benefit from the contract opportunities.
generate 10,000 CompeteFor registrations from the West Midlands region by July 2011 with 75% of these published.
enable West Midlands firms to have won £200 million worth of tenders, via the CompeteFor system, either as a direct supplier to London 2012, or as sub-contractors.
