Stoke-on-Trent Taekwondo instructor Master Peter Johnson and daughter Bethany Johnson will travel to Korea to train for twelve days with top Korean Masters, culminating in entering the 6th Korean Open Taekwondo championships in Gumi Korea. one of the biggest WTF Taekwondo Tournaments in the World.

Pete Johnson and Bethany Johnson are already British Taekwondo Control Boards National forms champions for 2010 and have been Invited by Grand Master TW Shin 8th Dan to join a six strong British Team going to Korea.

Peter said 'we will arrive in Seoul on the 27th of August, and train with one of the country’s top instructors for a gruelling six hours a day training sessions lasting right up to the tournament, we then travel south from Seoul to Gumi a two hundred and fifty mile journey to compete in the Korean Open Taekwondo championships that are held over three days. In this country we train on average nine hours a week, but we have been told we will be training six hours a day with both the heat and the travel to contend with. Hopefully the training will bring dividends but we are competing in the home of Taekwondo so it will be very hard to get a podium place in Korea.'

Bethany has been given a grant of £300 from the Stanley Matthews Foundation that is in helping to part funding the trip.
