A dedicated Community Games website has now gone live providing a single resource for communities, organisations and individuals who might be interested in running or organising their own Community Games event.
The website can be found at www.communitygames.org.uk and offers users detailed information about the programme, how it fits into the wider culture programme for 2012 in the West Midlands, as well as advice on training, setting up, organising and evaluating a Games. The specially created toolkit can also be downloaded direct from the website, which takes organisers and interested parties through the steps necessary to stage and manage their own Community Games event.
A public engagement and advocacy campaign will also begin later on this year and communities across the region will be targeted directly through the Community Sports Partnerships who are running the programme on our behalf.
