As the home of Dr. William Penny Brookes; creator of the Wenlock Olympian Games and founding father of the Modern Olympic Movement, Much Wenlock is central to the plans for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.
We will be harnessing the potential pulling power of Much Wenlock alongside other local gems such as the Unesco World Heritage site, Ironbridge Gorge Museum and our world class sports facilities and will work together to ensure that the benefits from the Games reach local people, businesses and visitors and last well beyond 2012.
