Former Olympians and sportspeople from across the county attended the fifth Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent 2012 Conference which was held at Staffordshire University, Beaconside on Tuesday 13 March.

Photos from the day can be viewed on Flickr here or on Staffordshire's website here.

The Conference presentations and workshop slides are all now available to download here - see 'Related Documents' (right).

The focus this year was on Team Staffordshire -Celebrating Success and Developing a Legacy in the County.

The conference gave people the opportunity to find out more about the local activities inspired by the London 2012 Olympic Games.  As the last annual 2012 Conference before the Olympic Games the event celebrated the work of partners regionally and nationally in developing a lasting legacy and the achievements of our volunteers, athletes and torchbearers.

The event also recognised and made awards to Staffordshire’s most promising young athletes at a special awards ceremony as part of Staffordshire County Council’s Young People’s Sports Performance Grant Scheme.

Our expert speakers included:

·        Jonathan Edwards CBE — Triple Jump World Record Holder and Deputy Chair of the London 2012 Nations and Regions Group
